A General Introduction to Rabbie’s

RABBIE’S SMALL GROUP TOURS
Rabbie’s Trail Burners was established in February 1993 as a minicoach tour business taking independent minded travellers on driver/guided tours to the Scottish Highlands. It has always operated 16 seat vehicles, because we believe that with larger groups you lose the personal touch that smaller groups can have. It also means we can stop in places and take routes that regular coach tours cannot.

Rabbies Trail Burners Rabbie’s encourages its customers to experience the real culture and history of Scotland. Our driver/guides are handpicked to offer a real insight into the country and hopefully some of the passion they feel about Scotland will rub off with their passengers. The smaller groups also allow passengers from diverse origins to meet each other and share experiences of their countries, culture and travel.

Rabbie’s Trail Burners only operates fuel efficient modern Mercedes minicoaches - none of which are more than 3 years old - to help protect the natural environment that it seeks to show off to its clients. By offering a small group experience at an affordable price it hopes to encourage visitors to Scotland not to hire their own car and enjoy the benefit of all our experience and knowledge of the best places to visit.

Rabbie’s Trail Burners believes in getting people off the beaten track and off the bus as much as possible, so that people can get a real feel for the Scottish Highlands come rain, hail or shine. Most of our tours incorporate nature trail walks suitable for virtually all people, young and old, so that the magnificent scenery of the Highlands does not just pass them by through the coach window.

Rabbies Trail Burners We are very conscious of the rural environments we visit and on extended tours we seek to spread the wealth created by our passengers amongst various local businesses. To this aim customers are given the choice as to what type of accommodation they would like on their tours, whether it be a hostel, bed and breakfast or hotel. This allows customers to manage their own budgets better, but it also means that the tourism expenditure of the passengers is spread around different establishments - not just one business, which we hope will help to sustain the economic environment of the places that the tours visit. It also gives the customers a better chance to mix with local people and have a unique experience, even though they are on an organised tour.

We strongly believe in giving our customers a high quality experience of Scotland - one which they will keep with them forever. We are the first coach tour operator in Scotland to achieve a 4 star grading from the Scottish Tourist Board now VisitScotland.

BESPOKE SMALL GROUP TOURS WITH DRIVER/GUIDES
In recent years we have introduced a new concept in tours which we have named "Anytime, Anyplace, Anywhere". Small groups can hire one of our minicoaches with an experienced driver/guide to take them wherever they want to go. We will plan and organise the itinerary and work with the customer to give them exactly what they want. In this way we can explore new boundaries and get people further off the beaten track to experience ever more diverse and spectacular parts of Scotland.

So if you have enquiries about genealogy, culture and walking, golf touring or Scottish gastronomy tours we will use our extensive experience of touring the Scottish Highlands and Islands to put together the perfect holiday. This service can also be provided with a French and German speaking driver/guide.

BESPOKE LARGER GROUP TOURS
We also use the same principles to provide tours for larger groups providing them with high quality coaches with expert guides. All these services can be provided with foreign language guides.

EDINBURGH CITY BREAKS
Rabbie’s offers a fantastic value City Break package to Edinburgh. What’s included?- 3 nights in 3 star city centre hotel. Breakfast is included. Our day tour to Loch Lomond National Park and Stirling Castle. Entrance to Edinburgh and Stirling Castles are also included in a 3 day Historic Scotland Explorer pass, which also allows them into further Historic Scotland Attractions if they want such as Craigmillar Castle. A Guide Friday city tour, which can be used all day, and is a useful service as customers can go round as many times as they like, and get off wherever they like. The 'Eggshell Guide to Edinburgh' which is a quirky guide to the city written by an ex Rabbie’s driver/guide Andrew Ramponi.

SELF DRIVE HOLIDAYS
Rabbies Trail Burners More recently, following customer demand, we have developed a range of self drive holidays. For those who want the freedom to explore entirely by themselves we have used our knowledge a ndexpertise to design some self-drive holidays to take people to more hidden gems in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. These holidays and short breaks are inclusive of dinner, bed and breakfast at quality small country hotels. Each Hotel has been graded by the Scottish Tourist Board/VisitScotland and chosen by us for their high quality service and fabulous menus using fresh local produce cooked in an imaginative way. These tours can also be used as templates for guided group tours.

CORPORATE & CONFERENCE SERVICES
We also specialise in tour and social programs for conference delegates before, during and after conferences. Popular events we have organised recently include a mini-Highland games and barbeque spit roast dinner in a rustic country barn setting; "pies and pints" brewery tour and meal; golfing days out in St.Andrews; "catch your own dinner" fly fishing (with instruction), whisky tasting and blending sessions. For conference organisers looking to do something a little bit different, our fun and relaxed programs will provide a memorable highlight to their conference. In addition to providing a bespoke program for conference delegates our scheduled Highland minicoach tour program is ideal for delegates and/or partners extending their stay in Scotland.

RABBIE’S GIFT SHOP
Our gift and souvenir shop was established on Edinburgh's historic Royal Mile in 1996 with two main themes in mind - to promote Scottish culture, and organise tours throughout Scotland. From the start we made the decision that our shop would only stock crafts and jewellery from small "cottage industries". Our emphasis has always been to concentrate on selling authentic, original and high quality Scottish and Celtic crafts. Many of our suppliers work in the rural areas of Scotland, such as the Highlands and Islands, where traditional craft making is vital to the local economy, and supporting their products helps to sustain their communities. Some items in the shop are available online either through www.rabbies.com or directly at www.scottishmemories.com
