Submitted by Shane on Tuesday, October 09, 2007: Fantastic Pub, Cheap drink, great food, brilliant astmosphere and staff, plus friendly locals! Can´t recomend it highly enough! Submitted by mia on Wednesday, August 22, 2007: ........and I don´t just mean in the bedroom! lol Submitted by Mia on Wednesday, August 22, 2007: Mioke.......... totally unjust comment. Firstly, it is not a dump, its a very laid back, clean watering hole. Fundamentally, I bet you didn´t win one game of pool, cause to be totally honest Jayne´s bar hosts the most talented players this side of the mason dixie line!..... It is a great local and the boss and his wife are a lovely, friendly couple, as are the bar staff. Whenever I have been in the customers have always been sound. The food is great and the portions are very generous. The cocktails are excellent - I am a particular fan of the Funky Monkey myself!! I have enjoyed many a great night there and the talent is pretty good too (particularly on a Thursday when the pool team is in!!). No idea what Mioke Brown is on about - Jaynes Bar is certainly no dump and I have never seen any trouble there. It comes highly recommended as far as I am concerned. Submitted by Jessica Naylor on Monday, March 26, 2007: Can´t say I agree with the last comment. I have been going to Jaynes for last couple of years and have always had brilliant nights out. The service is always fantastic, the drinks are cheap, the food is great and the atmosphere is always really laid back and welcoming. I have never seen any heads getting kicked in - other than when watching the sports coverage on one of Jaynes´ many TV´s. It isn´t a pretentious over priced bar that we are so accustomed to in Edinburgh and I for one, am grateful for that! Submitted by Mioke Brown on Tuesday, November 21, 2006: What a dump. Avoid at all costs if you don´t want to get involved in the local sport of kicking heids in - its the only exercise some of the punters get!
