Leith Lynx (formerly Homes Bar) is/was a cosy, old fashioned pub and is situated a short walk from the foot of Leith Walk down Constitution Street past St Mary's Star of the Sea church and into the heart of Leith, also referred to as North Edinburgh.
It has a good selection of drinks and also has some cask ales on offer through the reknowned Pat's Taps. (Her taps are world famous in Leith!) As well as a great drop of Guinness, I also sampled a rather tangy little ale called Dragon Slayer which only cost £1.63 per pint. The Guiness was £2.20.
Very much a local pub, it also gets a few local after-work drinkers through it's doors around tea time. Occaisonally, it also has informal folk music nights too! The decor is traditional with lots of memorabilia all over the walls - many bottles, antiques, old photographs of the area etc.
The toilets were adequate, atmosphere warm and friendly and they usually have the VH1 Classic music channel on in the background.
Verdict: Great pub for chat over a few quiet pints. Close to lots of other pubs in Leith so can be also be good starting point for a Leith pub crawl.
