Mathers Bar situated at the far West End of Princes Street is a very traditional old school boozer who do a great pint of 70. (Don't confuse with the Mathers Bar on Broughton Street in the East End.)Entering this pub is a bit like taking a step back in time, it is very ambient with an excellent selection of cask ales and drams (over 100 whiskies!). It tends to be very much a regulars pub but is also popular with partygoers at weekends.
Many of the original stained glass, cornices and chandeliers have been kept from when Mathers was first opened in 1903. A good starting point for a night out. Go visit!

A rare gem. Submitted by Joe on Thursday, March 29, 2007: Been here twice, staff are ok but the people that I have had the misfortune of speaking to in this place are to put it bluntly raving lunatics.
